We have our own Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) but are also open to using yours as well! We typically review, edit and renew all contracts on a yearly basis.
  • How many reports can you make for us?
We can create as many reports as you need! Depending on the facility type - we can cater to this upon initial consultation. Typically clients request monthly or quarterly reports.
  • What other resources do you use to observe trends and creating reports?
We think it's important to see the big picture and a localized overview. We use CDC, FDA, US Census Bureau, State, and Regional data - as well as whatever raw data or databases you provide us. We only compare data but do not provide official policy recommendations. Please follow up with your local and state health departments.

  • Can you provide specific information on what type of approach DSS takes?
In the context of public health and Long-Term Care Facilities (LTCFs) and Assisted Living Residence (ALR), communication with families is a crucial aspect of ensuring the well-being of residents and addressing concerns. We as public health professionals often work closely with LTCFs, assisted living facilities, independent living facilities, and families to provide information, support, and guidance. Open and Transparent Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with LTCF staff and families. Share information about the facility's COVID-19 policies, procedures, and safety measures. Regular Updates: Provide regular updates to families about the health and safety status within the LTCF. Share information on any COVID-19 cases, testing results, and vaccination efforts. Education and Resources: Offer educational materials and resources to families on topics like infection prevention, visiting guidelines, and available support services. Family Support: Offer emotional support to families who may be concerned about their loved ones in LTCFs or Assisted Living facilities. Address their questions and concerns promptly and empathetically. Visitation Policies: Clearly communicate the facility's visitation policies, which may include restrictions during outbreaks or based on local transmission rates. Explain the rationale behind these policies and any changes. Virtual Visits: Encourage and facilitate virtual visits (e.g., video calls) between residents and their families to maintain connections during restrictions. Infection Control Measures: Reinforce the importance of infection control measures, such as mask-wearing, hand hygiene, and social distancing, to both families and LTCF staff. Vaccination Promotion: Promote vaccination for residents and staff and provide information on vaccination clinics or opportunities. Family Councils: Encourage the establishment of family councils within LTCFs to foster communication, advocacy, and support among families. Feedback Mechanisms: Create mechanisms for families to provide feedback and voice concerns to the facility. Use feedback to continually improve safety and resident care. Emergency Planning: Collaborate with LTCFs to develop and communicate emergency plans for various scenarios, including outbreaks, natural disasters, and facility evacuations. Crisis Communication Plan: Develop a crisis communication plan that outlines roles, responsibilities, and communication strategies for public health officials, LTCFs, and families during emergencies. Cultural Sensitivity: Be culturally sensitive and consider diverse family dynamics and needs when communicating with families. Legal and Ethical Considerations: Ensure that all communication and actions adhere to legal and ethical standards regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. Community Resources: Connect families with community resources and support organizations that can provide additional assistance and information.
